Anti-Graffiti Protection AGS® system
...............................................................................................................................................
The most effective graffiti prevention method in the AGS® system is to protect the surface against graffiti creation.
It consists in covering part of the surface, such as a facade (along its whole length and up to approx. 3-4 m ) with a special AGS® preparation which is applied in several layers, with spraying being the optimum application method. This way a durable and virtually invisible, washable protective coat is obtained, which insulates the surface from all contamination.
As a result graffiti does not bind itself in a durable way with the structure of the facade material, but is stopped by the outer layer of the protective coat. Graffiti created on a protected surface can be removed hot, pressurized water (temperature approx. 90 º C). After removing the graffiti a new protective coat must be applied (where cleaning was performed).
AGS® protective preparations are colorless dispersions based on micro waxes, which - when applied - result in three different effects: AGS® 3502-semigloss, 3510-gloss, 3512-flat. They can be used on most types of surfaces. Because micro-waxes, which are the basic component of the preparation, are natural ingredients, the risk unexpected reactions with the substrate is eliminated. They are used for anti-graffiti protection of such surfaces as of all kinds of plaster facades, stone and ceramic facings, materials made of industrial metal sheet, surfaces of billboards, road signs etc.
Additionally the AGS® 3502, 3510 and 3512 can be used for hydrophobic protection. Their “insulation” properties ensure effective protection against moisture, salt and other degrading. An interesting fact should be pointed out here that despite the insulation properties, the protective coat does not in any way reduce “diffusion”, i.e. steam permeability of the surface it covers. The durability of protected surfaces is significantly improved, and – as a result – the cost of operation is reduced. In view of the above they can be used successfully for moisture insulation of, for example, north-western walls of buildings exposed to permanent dampness by rainfalls or surfaces in direct, permanent contact with water and salt, such as bridge piers, fountains etc.
Additional features:
- Durable and effective – at lease 7 years guaranteed
- Safe and ecological – they have received certificates, technical approvals and positive opinions concerning their environmental impact based on the research carried out by a Danish laboratory using the ODCE 302B method in the HEDESELSKAPET test, representing the most rigorous requirements in this respect.
- Natural and “neutral” – they can be used on delicate materials, including sites of historical value. This is confirmed by the Opinion of the Laboratory of Preservation Chemistry of the Department of Preservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Fine Arts Academy in Krakow and 20-year long history of use at representative and historical sites.
- Resistant to UV radiation – they fix colors and extend the durability of protected materials.
- Non-flammable – they do not emit toxic fumes during a fire, therefore they can be used in enclosed areas, such as tunnels, the underground etc.
- Washable – contamination can be periodically removed from protected surfaces. If required, protection can be removed from the surface as well.
